Editorial Policy

SUBMISSION OF MANUSCRIPTS

Manuscripts should be submitted ONLY in Microsoft Word format and sent to [email protected]. no other format shall be accepted.

Please refer to the section "Instructions for Authors" for more specific information on the submission of manuscripts.

AUTHORSHIP

All individuals listed as authors in the manuscript must have contributed to the research output in any way possible. All authors must fully understand and be able to defend the conclusions reached through their research.

ORIGINALITY

The submitted manuscript must not be under consideration, submitted for consideration, previously published, or accepted in another journal. Papers presented at a conference must be heavily reviewed and extended before being accepted for publication in KIJHUS. All submissions shall be assessed for ORIGINALITY using Turnitin's plagiarism checker software.

REVIEW PROCESS

All manuscripts shall go through at least two blind reviews before being published.

On receiving a manuscript, the Editor shall first ascertain its suitability for the journal, originality in terms of plagiarism levels, and readability. All journal articles are subjected to turnitin plagiarism checker / software, and the maximum acceptable level is 20%. If the manuscript aligns with the scope and aim of the journal, then it is sent to reviewers for their comments.

Based on the review, the manuscript will either be accepted or rejected.

If a paper is accepted by both reviewers without corrections, then the manuscript is forwarded for editing and proofreading.

However, if the reviewers make corrections or suggestions, then the author(s) is/are expected to make the corrections, and then the manuscript is sent for the second and final review. After which the paper is forward for proofreading and editing if it is accepted.

PUBLICATION FEES

The KIU Interdisciplinary Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences does not charge any publication or article processing fees. All articles are published free of charge on the website.

The authors will be asked to pay a small fee if they require hard copies of the books. This fee covers the production and shipment.

COPY EDITING

After a manuscript has been accepted for publication, it is then forwarded for copy editing to ensure it conforms to the house style and is devoid of any grammatical or spelling errors.
