UNVEILING THE DETERMINANTS OF QUALITY OF WORK LIFE: EVIDENCE FROM SMES IN KOGI STATE

Abstract: This study aimed at the determinants of Quality of Work Life of employees of SMEs in Kogi State. The survey research design was used in this study. 249 participants fully participated out of 365 sampled. The study applied multi-stage sampling approach. The study applied descriptive statistics, Ordered Probit Regression and Pearson Correlation Matrix for data analysis. Finding showed that general well-being, home-work interaction and working conditions have significant effects on the QWL of SMEs’ employees in Kogi State. Finding further showed that burnout has a significant and positive relationship with risk of work errors of SMEs’ employees in Kogi State. The study recommended that SME owners and managers should focus on home-work interaction, general well-being, working conditions and stress at work as they affect the QWL of SMEs' employees in Kogi State and that employees be motivated to disallow burnout as this will reduce risk of work errors.
